Katie Odom is the Program Manager at Headway’s San Antonio expansion site. She is an occupational therapist with more than fifteen years of clinical and leadership experience, specializing in polytrauma rehabilitation for active duty service members, veterans, and their families.
Before joining Bastion, Katie served seven years on active duty as a Medical Specialist Corps officer in the United States Army and continues to serve as a field grade officer in the Army Reserve, with over fourteen years of uniformed service and counting. Her clinical leadership roles have included Rehabilitation Director for the Soldier Recovery Unit at Fort Sam Houston, Clinical Rehabilitation Lead for the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research and Burn Center, and Clinic Chief of the Warrior and Family Recovery Center at Fort Riley, Kansas. In each capacity, she directed multidisciplinary teams, designed innovative care pathways, and forged partnerships with the government, community, and other veteran service organizations to ensure seamless transitions from hospital to community.
A proud Texan, Katie earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman’s University, then completed her Doctor of Science at Baylor University. Her academic work focused on developing evidence-based interventions that enhance functional independence and quality of life for those with complex injuries. She frequently collaborates with academic and clinical partners to share best practices and mentor emerging rehabilitation professionals.
Katie Odom lives in the San Antonio area and is deeply committed to fostering an intentionally connected community where veterans reclaim dignity, health, and purpose.
