Rachel Schwenk, LOTR

Clinical Director

Rachel is an occupational therapist with fifteen years of experience working in a variety of settings in New Orleans and across the US as a traveler. Her professional areas of interest and expertise include neurological rehabilitation, mental health, and community intervention. As a child of Air Force officers, Rachel grew up on military bases. She has a passion for serving these populations, helping them to live life to the fullest by decreasing barriers to health and holistic wellness access. 

Rachel received an undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a minor in Psychology from Louisiana State University A&M in 2006 and a Masters’ in Occupational Therapy from LSUHSC-New Orleans in 2009.

Rachel presented at professional conferences: American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) (2010) the Academy of Spinal Cord Injury Professionals (2013) and the Combat Wounded Veteran Conference (2022). She was selected the Distinguished Alumnus and keynote speaker for the LSUHSC-NO OT program in 2018. She frequently affiliates with LSUHSC OT Department as a guest lecturer and clinical instructor.

​Rachel is a former board member with Split Second Foundation and currently serves on the board of VIA LINK.  Rachel is committed to working tirelessly to instill dignity and enable access for veterans and others across the spectrum of abilities.
