BASTION’S 10 FOR 10:

A Decade of Healing Together

Bastion is celebrating ten years of healing, community building, and growth.

.

June 2026 marks a decade since the groundbreaking of Bastion’s residential community, America’s first intentional community for disabled veterans and families.

Today’s Bastion serves veterans all across New Orleans, surrounding parishes and as of Summer 2025, San Antonio. We’ve made our transformative, cost-free programs available to more of the 15,000 veterans who call New Orleans home through our new Veteran Wellness Center – a centralized hub of resources, support, and social connection. This project embodies Bastion’s next phase: expanding locally and nationally to meet the complex needs of today’s veterans, building communities of connection where no veteran heals alone.

We’re hosting 10 events to celebrate our growing impact and the veterans who make it possible. Join us to commemorate Bastion’s history, honor the veterans we serve, and support what’s next.

June 12 - Flagpole Dedication Ceremony

Raising our flag for the fallen

.

This June marks ten years since the groundbreaking of Bastion’s original residential community, which is why our 10 for 10 celebrations begin here – It is because of our early residents that we stand here now. Their stories, both those that have ended and those still being told, are forever woven into the fabric of this community.

We will dedicate our flagpole to all community members we have lost in this past decade, honoring their legacies. The flag will fly above our new Veteran Wellness Center as a tribute to where we came from, and a promise of where we’re going. For those no longer here to see it, we raise this flag in their name.

This is a private event for our community members, their families, and local leaders.

Gala of Resilience

An evening to celebrate healing – and fuel what’s next

.

The Gala of Resilience returns and will be hosted for the very first time in our new Veteran Wellness Center. We’ll look back upon the impact our veteran community has made in this last decade and look ahead towards our future: a world where No Veteran Heals Alone. We plan to bring our transformative programs, unique model of care, and community-building expertise to veteran hubs all across the country.

Join us at the Gala of Resilience to join this movement and become part of Bastion’s legacy.
