Zach George is an educator, grower, and consultant based in New Orleans. He is the founder of CRISP Farms (Community Research into Subtropical Permaculture), a nursery and education project focused on cultivating resilient food plants adapted to the Gulf South and sharing that knowledge through hands-on learning.
Zach has spent years teaching and mentoring across ages and settings, from classrooms to community gardens, using reading, writing, and growing food as tools for confidence-building, curiosity, and connection. At Bastion, he supports veterans and their families by helping cultivate gardens that provide food, habitat, and beauty—spaces that invite participation, routine, and healing through shared care of the land.
