Caity Bower is a full-time Occupational Therapist who joined the Bastion team in 2021. Caity holds a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy (OT) from LSUHSC-NO and a dual Bachelor’s in Psychology and Sociology from the University of New Orleans. Prior to transitioning full time to Bastion, Caity previously worked at Touro Hospital in both inpatient and outpatient settings, specializing in neurological patient populations. During the pandemic, Caity additionally worked as a Home Health Occupational Therapist rehabilitating individuals and families recovering from COVID-19. Caity holds a certification in Level 1 Pelvic Floor Therapy and has a passion for pelvic health and wellness.
Prior to becoming an Occupational Therapist, Caity worked in the field of Behavior Analysis as a regional Company Trainer. She helped to develop and facilitate training programs based on the principles of behavior analysis and directly train new hires on the implementation of treatment plans in all settings. Through her work in this field, Caity created social & play groups within the public and private New Orleans school systems to promote increased inclusion and socialization for individuals with diverse needs.
Caity is currently a board member of Imagination Veterans, whose mission is to provide service members, veterans, and their families a way to connect through board and card games. Caity is passionate about the field of Occupational Therapy, especially promoting engagement in meaningful activities to promote increased fulfillment in an individual’s life. At Bastion, Caity facilitates the management of our agricultural program and community garden.
